Welcome to The Pawtucket Community Chorus!

We are a community chorus located in Pawtucket, RI. We welcome all skill levels, and all ages 16+. Bringing together community members who love to sing is a wondrous way to create community and we aim to do this right here in downtown Pawtucket!

The chorus meets weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 at Zabinski Music Studio, 228 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI on the second floor. Rehearsals are fun and relaxed (though we do get a lot of work done!). Feel free to stop by or fill out this form to know about the latest rehearsal changes, what we are singing etc: https://forms.gle/2pzBSZg373yreNeG7

Our inaugural performance is coming up! We will be performing 2 short pieces at the Pawtucket Arts Festival on Sunday September 10, 2023 at 1:00. Look for us near the carousel!

The Pawtucket Community Chorus was born out of the knowledge that community arts is one of the best ways to create community here in downtown Pawtucket. Rebekah & Esther Zabinski, owners of Zabinski Music Studio located in downtown, received many requests over the years from parents and students who wished to have a place they could sing and make music together. They made this desire known to The Pawtucket Foundation and together secured funding to start the Pawtucket Community Chorus. With this funding, we were able to secure our leadership: Ron Muccitelli & Kevin Koehler.  Under the guidance of these trained musicians, the community chorus meets weekly to let anyone and everyone participate and create music together. Please join us or support us by coming to our performances!

Ron Muccitelli studied vocal performance at a small private college in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and graduated with his Bachelor of Music degree in 2010 and has recently obtained a master’s degree in social work. Ron has been active in many community musical endeavors as well as teaching private voice, piano, and flute lessons. When relocating to southeastern New England in 2014, Ron accepted a choir director position at a local congregation in Swansea, MA and continued his involvement with community choral groups. He is looking forward to building a community choral group that shares the joy of music with the greater Pawtucket area.

Kevin Koehler is a tenor and violinist from Long Island, New York. He received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Crane School of Music in 2010 and Master of Music Performance degree from the University of Rhode Island in 2012. Since graduating, he has worked in the classroom teaching vocal and performance techniques from the elementary through college levels. He currently lives in Cumberland, Rhode Island and can be found performing regularly around New England.

Top reasons why students love Zabinski Music Studio:

1. Monthly recitals & performance opportunities.

Students are invited to participate in our monthly recitals, held right here at the studio, at no additional fee. Students are also invited to perform annually at various fairs and festivals throughout Northern RI!

2. Customized lessons around student interests.

Teachers customize lesson plans around students' interests. Students can bring in their favorite song and learn it without having to stick with a prescribed music curriculum.

3. Annual Piano Guild certification & awards.

Students are invited to participate in various competitive programs in order to test their abilities and earn certificates, pins and trophies!

4. A variety of lessons offered including piano, bass, guitar, drums, voice, violin, and woodwind instruments.

All different instruments are offered here at Zabinski Music Studio. Our teachers have been naturally curious students their entire lives and have studied multiple instruments themselves. Anyone who wishes to switch up their instrument can often keep the same teacher or easily add a lesson with another teacher if they desire. Siblings can take lessons simultaneously with different teachers and on different instruments, making the logistics of lessons a breeze for parents.

5. Convenient lesson times.

We are open 7 days a week so finding a lesson time that works for your schedule is always possible.
